The world of Sel and of Elantris in particular are building up. Our cast is loving Sarene. They're liking Raoden, and they're worried about Hrathen. So, basically, everything is going according to plan. It's way too soon for any solid guesses about where all of this is going, but that doesn't stop our cast from giving it a go and putting their all into predigments for you to be amused and/or shocked by. That's just how we roll here at The Sanderlanche!

Serene’s POV is indeed fun. Kiion is great but I agree the name salad is tough to keep up with. The family dynamic is absolutely great. Also, fantasy readers who complain that that’s not how fantasy dynamics work in the past… Isn’t one of the points of fantasy to suspend beliefs? The seon discussion was fun. Dilaf is an extremist like Anakin heh.

The refrain of the MOS song is good for Elantris. Even the “neon lights” despite them not having those. It isn’t as perfect as the Mistborn or Way of Kings ones, but you have limited songs and it still works well. The beat also goes along with the book—sounds more hopeful at the end :) definitely bought into the song by then.
