While Dac and Jaymee are still off livin' dat new baby life, with the no sleep and the crying, oh the crying, Joe and Data continue what they started last week, moving on the The Well of Ascension. 67 - Baby Break 1 - The Final Empire - 1-Star Reviews

Dac and Jaymee are taking a bit of a break after welcoming a beautiful new baby into the world. And, you know, it's Australia, and everything is out to get you there. So they've got to prepare the kid for that. In the meantime, Joe and Data needed to come up with something to keep everyone entertained. For this episode, that's reading 1-star reviews of The Final Empire from Amazon and Goodreads and discussing the opinions of people who, for whatever inconceivable (I don't think that word means what you think it means) reason, hated the book. 66 - Elantris - Chapters 4, 5, and 6

The world of Sel and of Elantris in particular are building up. Our cast is loving Sarene. They're liking Raoden, and they're worried about Hrathen. So, basically, everything is going according to plan. It's way too soon for any solid guesses about where all of this is going, but that doesn't stop our cast from giving it a go and putting their all into predigments for you to be amused and/or shocked by. That's just how we roll here at The Sanderlanche!

65 - Elantris - Prologue and Chapters 1, 2, and 3

This week we start in on Elantris. Every is pretty pumped to be trying out something new, even if the various fantasy names Brandon came up with do cause some ... consternation? Yeah, sure, that's a word for it. Lots of exciting new stuff to explore in this whole new world, ending with some very deep predigments, considering how little the crew has to go on. 64 - Mistborn: Secret History - Chapters 5-9 of Part 6, Epilogue, and The Traveler

Our time on Scadrial draws to a close this week, at least for now. It's bittersweet for some of the crew. On the one hand, we get to see our old friends again. On the other, Spook is king. Stay tuned after the Secret History discussion, though, for a dramatic reading of The Traveler, an unpublished, never-even-finished short story by Brandon. The Cosmere really begins to open up with possibilities for us on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

63 - Mistborn: Secret History - Part 5 and chapters 1-4 of Part 6

Lots of weirdness this week, not the least of which is the IRE and what the heck is going on with any of that. There's cons being pulled and possibly a rave happening. We find out the secret identity of the sexy drifter, and everyone is thinking maybe there's something more to this guy than we thought before, but what could it be? Oh, and also Kelsier becomes a god. You know, no big. The big news, though, is that Joe finally gets to really delve into the mediocrity of Final Fantasy 9, a moment I know you've all been waiting for. Your prayers have at long last been answered on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

59 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 79, 80, 81, 82, and Epilogue

This is it, folks, the big one. We're finishing not only this book, but the whole trilogy we've been working on since the show started. Will they love it? Will they hate it? Find out this week on The Sanderlanche!

58 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78

Lot of chapters in this, the penultimate episode of the Mistborn era 1 trilogy. Vin's a god now. Whoda thunkit? Certainly not any of our crew. No one is quite sure what to expect next since, "main character becomes a god" wasn't on anybody's bingo card up to this point, and that's something of a game-changer. We're deep in the Sanderlanche now, and everyone is flailing a bit trying to figure out where it's going to put us down. It's a very exciting, confusing time on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

57 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, and 72

Everyone is hyped by reading one of the coolest fights in the series, Vin vs more than a dozen inquisitors. Goradel dies, which is a bummer, but it pays off when Marsh gets his moment to shine. The Sanderlanche is in full swing now, and the whole crew is amazed that we're so close to the end, and no one can say how it will go. 56 -Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 62, 63, 64, 65, and 66

Long episode this week. There's just so much starting to happen. Vin and Yomen make friends (kinda?), Vin kills Marsh (briefly), and Ruin proves that, yes, he CAN, in fact, take control of armies of Koloss. That's the last time we ever doubt the word of the epigraph writer. We are rapidly approaching the end of this trilogy, and you can feel the excitement in the air on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

55 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 57, 58, 59, 60, and 61

In these chapters, things really start to heat up, sometimes quite literally. Spook has his heroic almost-death moment, and gets some begrudging respect from our crew. Sadly, we don't get TenSoon Kelsier vs Ruin Kelsier, which everyone was kind of pulling for. Meanwhile, elsewhere, everything else seems to be moving into position for the dominos to start falling over. Other than that, we've got some new members of the Misting Crew, Dac composes his own tombstone, and I announce exactly what we'll be reading when Hero of Ages wraps up. Very exciting week for The Sanderlanche!

54 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 53, 54, 55, and 56

Big week for emails. So stay tuned through the end for some interesting discussion that comes out of those. On the whole, though, our crew were big fans of these chapters, despite Spook/Beldre interactions making up most of 2 of the 4 chapters we read this week. Could this be a turning point for Sanderlanche/Spook relations? Only time will tell. The big news, though, is Preservation. He was the mist spirit all along? And he has a body? A now-dead body? How does that even work? Enjoy the confounding nature of the Cosmere on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

53 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 49, 50, 51, and 52

A nice mix of perspectives in this week's chapters. I daresay, we're setting the stage for some Sanderlanche-ing. This week our crew is delighted to see TenSoon return, even if his chapter is largely telling us how terrible things have gotten. They like seeing Elend strike out on his own, even if his chapter is largely depressing introspection. And they love seeing Spook because it gives everyone an opportunity to rag on him some more. My favorite, on the other hand, was Vin's chapter with the banter. Maybe that's just me. Even better, though, is the part where someone gives me an excuse to bust out the statistics on what countries our listeners are from. Find out the top 7 for April on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche! (I know, I know, I'm the only one who gets excited for those bits; I get to have fun too, you know!)

52 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 45, 46, 47, and 48

This week the crew continues to be hard on Spook. I hear, you, audience. I know it's heartbreaking for some who love Spook, but, in this case at least, dude is being kind of a creeper. I think the criticism this time is fair ... well, mostly. Joe just hates him. So we can't expect much there. Other than that, we've got some really insightful predictions and, for some reason, a discussion of which instrument each person in the crew would play if they formed a band. Yeah, I don't know. I recorded it. I edited it. I still don't know how it happened. Enjoy!

51 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 40, 41, 42, 43, and 44

Threw you all a bit of a curveball and tossed in chapter 44 last minute. Still, it ends us in a great spot. Listen to what our crew thinks about the apparent return of Vin's long-lost, but hardly-lamented big brother in this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

50 - Mistborn: The Hero of Ages - Chapters 36, 37, 38, and 39

In this episode, we find out the dark secret of the Koloss. Yes, beyond being hideous abominations who slaughter indiscriminately, there's even more messed up stuff going on with those guys. On top of that, the podcast crew is getting very interested in all the knowledge drops about the horrifying, yet intriguing art known as hemalurgy. And then there's a new Survivor in town.  Is it Spook? Is it ... someone other than Spook? Not a lot of possibilities being bandied about. Find out why in this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!
